William Carvalho

William Carvalho holds degrees in Business Administration and Accounting from PUC-SP and an MBA in Financial Controls and Auditing from Fundação Getúlio Vargas. He has over 15 years of experience in Governance, Risk, Compliance, Internal Controls, and SOX within multinational environments.

He currently leads the Internal Controls function for FedEx in the Latin America and Caribbean region, overseeing SOX-404 ICFR, enterprise risk governance, operational controls, and audit readiness across 49 business units. William has implemented large-scale Risk and Control Matrices and led the deployment of Control Self-Assessment (CSA) programs to strengthen ownership, transparency, and control maturity. He also leads the ISO certification process for FedEx Latin America and Caribbean, reinforcing standardized governance and quality management practices across the region.

William is a member of the Global Content Advisory Group of the Institute of Internal Auditors and serves as Co-Chair of the Governance, Risk, and Compliance Subcommittee at the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce of Florida. He is a frequent speaker and author on internal controls, governance, SOX, ESG, and compliance transformation.
